When Gage Lang started Breaüxdoo Bakery, he rebuffed the classic bakery aesthetic for something more suited to his interests and style. Now, this punk rock bakery wows locals looking to satisfy their sweet tooth. Founded during the pandemic, Gage Lang and his team started out by taking their cookies straight to customers, satisfying midnight munchies and late-night cravings via delivery rather than forcing them to pick-up in person.
Breaüxdoo has expanded its offerings from just cookies, now selling full-sized slices of cake and even cookie dough and cake pops. Opening at 5 pm and going late into the night, you can enjoy fresh tasty treats long after the other bakeries have closed for the day. The Birth of Breauxdoo Bakery
Gage found his baking roots in Seattle as a high school culinary student. Lang is a born and raised Washingtonian who brings a tattoo shop-like experience to his dessert repertoire. With just a nest egg of start-up money, Lang was able to combine his passions for punk rock and pastries into the bakery we now come to enjoy.
Though Breaüxdoo started small as an online-only shop, they quickly grew as hungry locals demanded late-night goodies.
Something Sweet for Spokane
“In Spokane, people are ready for something new and we’ve been able to deliver,” says Lang.
Like any great rock band, they defy dusty traditions and create exciting new experiences through their creations. “We wanted a place that reflected diversity and to show that diversity is welcome,” Lang states. In the Fall of 2020, they bought their own commissary and now offer a wide variety of goods. In the year since, the shop has opened the dining section of their store so guests can enjoy the goth-rock vibes of sugary goodness.
Some of their cookie flavors include a "Hollywood Diet Cookie", an indulgent peanut butter cookie with chocolate ganache and Butterfinger crumbs to top, and the "Red Rum", a red-velvet cookie with white chocolate chips.
