Suds at the Summit: No-Li Brewhouse Elevates Their Tap House Experience Atop Mt. Spokane

A crisp, craft beer is the perfect way to cap off a day on the slopes. But skiers and snowboarders will no longer need to finish a run to enjoy a cold one at Mt. Spokane.

The local mountain has teamed up with No-Li Brewhouse to create the new Mountain Tap House at the top of the Parkway Express lift.

The tap house is made from a container unit that is branded with No-Li’s popular Cascade Fog Hazy IPA logo, so it won’t be hard to miss on those blustery days.

The container will be familiar to regulars – it sat at the bottom of the mountain last season. This fall, a helicopter crew lifted and flew it to its new home at the top of the peak. It now sits adjacent to a heated yurt, making it the perfect place to take a break.

So, what can folks expect when paying a visit?

“Get off the lift, ride into the Cascade Fog container unit, have a beer on the hill, then finish your run,” said No-Li Owner John Bryant.

Bryant’s brewery has been gaining international attention for its beers over the past few years. No-Li’s brewing team has won awards in Japan, Australia, Germany and Belgium, and they believe their partnership will help bring an international presence to the mountain.

“We’ve had an 11-year relationship with the Mt. Spokane ski area and two years ago we got together to find out how we could create more energy about Mt. Spokane, make it more competitive to Schweitzer and Mt. Baker, Bend, Oregon,” Bryant said. “Skiing is a great recreational sport, but it’s about entertainment as well and they were really interested in all the medals we’ve been winning around the world and how do we make that even a bigger thing to bring that international presence of the No-Li brand to the mountain?”

Now, skiers and snowboarders will know that when they pay a visit to Mt. Spokane, not only will they be riding on some of the best terrain in the northwest, but they’ll have an opportunity to drink world-class beer.

“[Mt. Spokane] is thinking larger, and differently, it’s a great thing,” Bryant said.

Mt. Spokane and the Mountain Tap House open for the season in early December, but don’t worry: if you’re not planning to leave the warmth of the lodge, you will still be able to enjoy a No-Li craft beer in the main lodge.
